Melissa Bauld Rome, AIA is a founding Partner of Rome Office. She is a registered architect with professional experience in a number of design fields including architecture, product, lighting, graphic, and urban design. She has practiced for over nine years in the United States and Spain.
Before founding Rome Office, Melissa was a Project Designer at BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in New York City. At BIG she served as both Project Designer and Manager for the award-winning, Vancouver House development slated to be completed in the fall of 2019.
Prior to joining BIG, she was an Associate at CAZA Architects in Brooklyn where she was Project Manager for the RBA House and the Osmeña Boulevard Plan, both of which are currently under construction in the Philippines.
She received her Master of Architecture degree from Yale University where she was awarded the James Gamble Rodgers Fellowship in recognition of outstanding performance in critical thought and design. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Language from Clemson University and is a proud Clemson native.
Melissa currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Tulane School of Architecture.
Brian Rousseau Rome is a founding Partner of Rome Office, which is located in his home town of New Orleans, Louisiana. He has practiced architecture, interior design, and planning for the past nine years in the United States, Denmark, Netherlands, and China.
Before founding Rome Office, Brian was a Project Leader at BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in New York City. At BIG, he worked directly with Bjarke Ingels producing architectural and urban designs on some of the most prominent projects around the world. His focus at BIG was in leading the design and development stages of many significant hi-rise projects.
Prior to BIG, Brian worked at the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) in Rotterdam. There, he contributed to both design and research projects, including the award winning Le Dauphin restaurant in Paris, France.
He received his Master of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin where he was awarded the Louis F. Southerland Endowed Scholarship. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University.
In addition to his focus on practice, Brian is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Tulane School of Architecture.
Gustavo Rodas is a Junior Designer at Rome Office. He received his M.Arch degree and a minor in Urban Studies from Tulane University, where he was awarded the Ronald F. Katz memorial award for the thorough and careful development of a provocative thesis idea. While at Tulane he also studied abroad in Barcelona, was selected as a summer public interest design fellow, and collaborated with the Tulane Regional Urban Design Center on the redevelopment visioning plan for the city of Gretna, Louisiana. He grew up in Quito, Ecuador.
Mollie Burke, AIA, NCAARB is an Architect at Rome Office. She received her Master of ARchitecture, Bachelor of Architecture, and a minor in Urban Studies from Tulane University. She was a team member of the 2010 UrbanBuild design/build program in collaboration with the Make It Right neighborhood. During her time at Tulane, She spent a semester abroad in Rome, Italy.
Prior to joining Rome Office, she was a Project Manager at Domain Architecture. Her work with Domain included several commercial, residential, and municipal projects in varying scales. She received her Louisiana Architectural License in 2016.
Ali Chen is a Designer at Rome Office. She has over five years of experience in architecture and visualization. Before joining Rome Office, she was a Junior Designer at BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) in New York City where she worked on a number of project types and scales, including the Google Campus in Mountain View and the Eleventh Avenue Towers currently under construction adjacent to the High Line in New York City.
Prior to joining BIG, Ali was a Visualization Designer at Laptop Rendering based in Venice Beach, creating visualizations for award-winning architecture firms around the world. She received her B.Arch degree from The University of Southern California and is from El Camino, California.
